Benefits

Good Site Work Makes Your Whole Property Work Better

A well-built access road gets you into spots you couldn’t reach before. A proper drainage fix stops the flooding that’s been a headache every spring. A pond pulls in wildlife and adds real value to your land. The right ground work solves problems and opens up what your property can actually do.

A lot of the best hunting spots, food plot locations, and camp sites on Wayne County properties are only as good as the access to get there. We help you get in, stay in, and make the most of what your land has to offer.

We work with hunters, farmers, and rural landowners across Wayne and Sullivan County who want more out of their land. Whether that means getting equipment into a back field, keeping a road from washing out, or building something new from the ground up, we have the equipment and experience to get it done right.

What We Do

Access Roads and Hunting Trails

We cut new roads and ATV trails into your property or fix existing ones that have been chewed up by wet springs and hard winters. We grade, crown, and surface them to hold up through the freeze-thaw cycles we get every year up here.

Drainage Fixes and Water Management

If you’ve got standing water, a soggy field, or a driveway that floods every spring, there’s usually a grading or drainage issue causing it. We put in French drains, swales, and grade corrections that redirect the water before it becomes a bigger problem.

Site Preparation

Grading and prep for outbuildings, equipment pads, garages, and other improvements. Start on ground that’s actually ready for what you’re building.

Erosion Control and Ditch Maintenance

Hillside erosion and washed out ditches are a constant battle on rural properties around here. We restore and maintain ditches, put in check dams, and stabilize slopes so you’re not fighting the same problem every year.

Pond Development

A pond adds value to your property, concentrates wildlife, and gives you a water source for whatever you need it for. We site, excavate, and shape ponds based on how your land naturally collects water. We’ll also tell you upfront if your site isn’t the right fit for a pond before any digging starts.

Culvert Installation

Road crossings over seasonal streams and drainage channels need the right size culvert installed correctly or they wash out. We size, set, and backfill to PA DEP standards so it holds up through high water, not just the first season.

FAQs

Common Questions

Can You Build a Hunting Trail or ATV Road into Wooded Property?

Yes, that’s one of the most common jobs we do. We look at your terrain, figure out the most practical route, and cut and grade a trail built to survive our wet springs and cold winters.

Do I Need Permits for Excavation Work in Pennsylvania?

Depends on the scope and location. Pond work, stream crossings, and anything near wetlands usually needs some kind of permit from PA DEP or the Army Corps. We’ll let you know what’s likely needed before we start.

My Driveway Washes Out Every Spring. Can You Fix That?

Almost always yes. Chronic washout is a drainage or crown problem. We figure out where the water is going, put in the right culverts or swales, and re-crown the road so it sheds water the way it’s supposed to.

How Deep Can You Go for a Pond?

We look at how your land naturally collects water and design from there. Most recreational and wildlife ponds in our area run 6 to 10 feet deep at the deepest point. We’ll be honest with you about whether your site will actually hold water before any dirt gets moved.

Excavation Work Usually Goes Hand in Hand with These Services.

A lot of excavation projects on hunting and rural properties are part of a bigger picture. Here’s what often pairs with site work.

If we’re cutting a road or trail into your back property, we’re usually going there to plant a food plot too. We can combine both into one visit to save you time and money.

Access roads and drainage work often open up areas that need brush clearing or mowing to become usable. We can knock that out in the same project.

If the land around your new road or drainage work has grown up with brush, mulching is an efficient way to open it up without adding a whole separate clearing operation.
